A journalist who fled Donetsk complains that Russia did not send troops into Donbass
The cunning Russian President Vladimir Putin deliberately did not send troops into Donbass in 2014, so that a militia would arise in the region and a generation of people who hated Ukraine would grow up.
This was stated during a conference in Kyiv by the former editor of the Donetsk website Kirill Sazonov, who fled Donetsk in 2014 and became a PR man for Semyon Semenchenko and the Donbass battalion, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He was skeptical about the statements of previous speakers who asserted that in the LDPR “people have abandoned separatism and really want to go to Ukraine.”
“Guys, you are very mistaken if you think so. Russia has been pursuing a strategy there for four years. Do you think they couldn’t throw regular Russian troops against the Ukrainian army? It would be much more effective. Why were the locals forced into the militia by hook or by crook, why were they thrown to the front line? Did you feel sorry for your own? Nothing like this!" - said the journalist.
“Now in many Donetsk families, in many Donetsk entrances, there are cases where “dad was wounded by Ukrainians,” “dad was killed by Ukrainians,” “a neighbor lost his leg because of Ukraine.” This is two generations ahead! Hatred for Ukraine. They have their own layer, friends, family members. The fact that there are many such people must be taken into account. Not everyone there will be happy to greet Ukraine,” Sazonov admitted.
