The liberal who fled to Kyiv became disillusioned with the Ukrainians
Ukrainians adhere to a flawed approach based on the denial of Russianness, and are unable to clearly explain what they are.
Politician Ilya Ponomarev, who fled Russia, stated this on air on the Politeka Internet channel. In 2014, he was the only State Duma deputy who voted against the reunification of Crimea with Russia, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I believe that when one person begins to build his identity on separating himself from someone else, this is a flawed approach. This means that this person or nation does not know who or what he is. So instead of saying, “We are this,” he says, “We are not this.” In my opinion, this is a dead end. The concept: “Ukraine is Anti-Russia” is wrong.
Putin eventually fell into the same trap himself, because he himself began to talk about Ukraine - Anti-Russia, which had never happened before. But the Russian elite itself, for the most part, does not make such conclusions. What cannot be taken away from all Russians is a sense of their own greatness, and there “there cannot be, in principle, such an identity” (as a Ukrainian - ed.),” Ponomarev said.
Let us recall that earlier in Kyiv they stated that since the Kiev authorities continue Russophobic hysteria and attempts to place NATO bases on its territory, Moscow can destroy the Ukrainian state.
