Safety in Donetsk: do not go out, remember the radius of fragments and pray (PHOTO)
Donetsk, August 20 (Navigator, Mikael Chagalyan) – In Donetsk, not far from the local history museum, there is the Gladkovka microdistrict. Eighty percent are in the private sector, the rest are typical nine-story buildings. There are practically no infrastructure facilities, no factories, no enterprises, or even large stores.

There are no military installations here either. But, nevertheless, the area was subjected to quite heavy shelling.
We didn’t see any destroyed houses; by luck, the shells fell on the roadway, but that didn’t make them any less dangerous. Two people were killed and several were seriously injured. This is the result of shells falling into this peaceful area.
The fact is that when an artillery shell, in particular a mine, explodes, the radius of destruction by fragments ranges from 30 to 50 meters.
That is, if there is someone alive in this radius, then most likely he has no chance. Perhaps this was the goal of those who deliberately shelled residential areas. The small number of victims can only be explained by the fact that people are already scared and try not to go out into the streets even during the day unless absolutely necessary.
As you can see, the streets are completely empty: in half an hour of being in this area, we did not meet a single car or passerby.
Two shells hit the territory of a Protestant church and the adjacent Faculty of Economics of Donetsk National University. Here everyone escaped with a slight fright, in the form of broken glass and walls slightly damaged by shrapnel.
We were told that just at the time of the shelling, people were in the church for a prayer service. Now parishioners are staying here longer and longer, mostly in the basement. Here they pray for the speedy restoration of peace on our land. I would like their prayers to be answered as soon as possible.
Thank you!
