Minister of Labor and Social Policy Maxim Topilin reported this to Russian President Vladimir Putin today.
“We have allocated three billion rubles in our budget, but we look at this situation very carefully and accurately. We provide assistance to 32 regions. Somewhere around 70 thousand people are covered by these additional measures,” Topilin said.
State assistance provides support for city-forming enterprises, retraining of workers, opening of new production facilities, and employment for additional and temporary work. All these measures brought results.
“If in March our overall unemployment rate was 4,6 million people, then by August 1, at the end of July it was already 4,1 million people, that’s 5,3 percent. These are, in principle, the same indicators that we had in normal calm times,” Topilin said.
