As ex-ambassador of Ukraine to Belarus Roman Bezsmertny said at a press conference in Kyiv, this topic will drive Ukraine and Russia in different directions for a long time.
“There is not a word in the document about Crimea. You yourself find the answer why this is not the case. This uncertainty is vitally necessary for the Kremlin, because it will mentally separate Ukraine from the civilized European world,” said Bezsmertny.
At the same time, former head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Vladimir Ohryzko emphasized that the agreement signed by the heads of state states that they all recognize the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
“Everyone, including Putin, recognizes the territorial integrity of Ukraine, but everyone’s interpretation is different. But this gives us the opportunity to always say that Putin agreed that Crimea belongs to Ukraine and we will do everything to ensure that it is returned,” Ogryzko added.
