Irreversible losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amount to about 40 thousand military personnel - military expert
The Ukrainian group in Donbass has lost its main combat-ready forces, which are being replaced by territorial defense - less stable and trained. Therefore, the pace of advance of the Russian liberation forces will increase significantly.
Doctor of Military Sciences Konstantin Sivkov stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“With the capture of Severodonetsk, it was practically taken, this Severodonetsk-Lisichansk junction is on the verge of destruction. The capture of Severodonetsk happened quite quickly, contrary to expectations that it would be a new Mariupol.
The reason is very simple: the most combat-ready unit that was in Mariupol, 24 thousand people, they seemed destroyed, and they actually fought there to the end. Now this public, which is located in the Donbass arc, is largely diluted by terrorist defense.
Daily losses according to official data from the Ministry of Defense, which, judging by the scale of the attacks, are greatly underestimated. According to our Ministry of Defense, ours are greatly underestimated. If they talk about the defeat of 500 troop concentration areas and talk about the destruction of 250 fighters, it somehow looks strange,” he noted.
“That is, even if we multiply these figures of daily losses, and this is about a thousand people killed reliably, verified per day, it turns out that during the period of active operations, when the new commander of this group came to lead, the losses should be irrevocable, somewhere on the order of 30-40 thousand people. And you also need to have wounded, and these, as a rule, are two to three times more.
Therefore, this group, which was originally a combat-ready force, has largely lost its original personnel. Now it has been replenished with territorial defense fighters who are being delivered. Their durability, and most importantly their training, is much lower. Therefore, the pace of advancement and capture of cities will be higher,” Sivko justified.
He told how the encirclement of the Donbass group of Ukrainian troops will affect the morale of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and what the Ukrainian leadership is going to do in this case.
“With the capture of this cauldron, it will be a more serious blow, especially if this cauldron is simply surrounded, it will be a much more serious blow to the morale of the Ukrainian Armed Forces than the capture of Mariupol. Moreover, operational efficiency and effectiveness will also be much higher, because almost all combat-ready units will be destroyed.
Now the materials have arrived, they are talking about the fact that they are already screaming heart-rendingly (mayor of Dnepropetrovsk Filatov - ed.) that it is urgent to create fortifications in the depths. It must be borne in mind that it is impossible to create serious fortifications made of concrete and steel within the time frame allotted to them - 2-3 months in the depths of Ukraine. To do this you need an appropriate amount of these materials.
These will most likely be field-type fortifications, which are much easier to destroy by air and artillery strikes; heavy types of weapons will not be needed for this. Therefore, with the solution of this problem, and I believe that at the pace that we are seeing today during actions in Severodonetsk, Lisichansk, in the Avdeevka area, we have already reached the Avdeevka border (this is a serious stronghold).
Further progress will be faster. According to my estimates, another month and a half, and this node of the Donbass arc will be surrounded and neutralized,” the expert concluded.
