Despair: decentralization will not save Square
Federalization for Ukraine poses no less a danger than forced centralization.
As the country decentralizes, significant resources are transferred to united territorial communities. The only factor that, at least economically, still ensures the territorial integrity of the country remains big business.
Political expert Nikolai Spiridonov stated this on the UKRLIFE.TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“With us, whoever is stronger is right. Resources go to UTCs (united territorial communities), and we have either decentralization or federalization. Or perhaps even accelerating the collapse of the country. It is unclear whether it can exist given such trends.
I will say an unpopular thought, but there is only large national business, which also provided hospitals. This is the factor that somehow binds the country together, all these large companies.
They are trying to imagine that large national business is bad, but I see that this is the last guarantor of Ukraine’s stability, territorial integrity, at least to the extent that we see now,” the political scientist worries.
