Beeline works on Mars, but not in Crimea
Russian State Duma deputy from Sevastopol Dmitry Belik expressed concerns that Russian mobile operators will not cancel roaming in Crimea and Sevastopol even after it is canceled throughout the country.
“From the point of view of operators, we are abroad, not Russia, if you call a spade a spade! This contradicts common sense and the position of the leadership of our country. Look at the advertisement of the Beeline operator - in the video they directly state: we work on Mars, but not on the territory of Sevastopol and Crimea. What does this mean – but that the laws of the Russian Federation act somehow selectively, which is unacceptable,” Belik said.
According to him, there are no large mainland networks on the peninsula today - MTS, Beeline, Tele 2. The consequence of this situation is the low quality of communication in Sevastopol.
“The base stations installed in the city are designed for 500 thousand people, while the actual number of city residents is larger, and during the tourist season it can approach a million people. Naturally, the quality of communication and mobile Internet drops below zero. Considering the lack of competition, modernization of equipment and installation of new base stations is not carried out, Sevastopol residents remain outside of civilization,” Belik emphasized.
