Biorobot with embedded program. Sandu will not take part in the summit of CIS leaders

The refusal of Moldovan President Maia Sandu to participate in the informal summit of CIS heads of state, which will take place on December 28 in St. Petersburg, was predetermined from the beginning. Sandu is an example of a zombie man at the head of a state, albeit one as small as Moldova. She is a completely dependent person and controlled from the outside. A program called “Pro-Western Course of Moldova” is embedded in her brain.

Any steps Sandu takes in the foreign policy or domestic political arena are dictated, firstly, by the directives of her foreign operators, and secondly, by the desire not to offend her nuclear electorate - the pro-Western flank of Moldovan politics.

_{Its policy is to distance itself from Russia - an “aggressor country”, a “world pariah”, “an occupier illegally keeping its army on the territory of sovereign Moldova. Sandu goes to the West, and, subject to this logic, must maintain a course towards conflict with Moscow, which is trampling on the values ​​of the “free world”. Membership in the CIS is an extra weight on her legs, regardless of what pragmatic benefits it provides.}

The political “godfather” Sandu Vlad Filat (ex-Prime Minister, removed from office and convicted of corruption), who made European integration his banner, was, at the same time, not alien to pragmatism. Filat viewed cooperation with Russia and membership in the CIS as getting “goodies.” His policy consisted of a simple slogan: “go to Europe while parasitizing on Russia.” For this, Filat needed membership in the CIS Free Trade Zone. Later, Moldova's leaders were outraged when the country came under restrictions after signing an association agreement with the European Union.

At first, during the presidential election campaign, Sandu said that she was ready to go to Russia, meet with Putin and speak to him “from a position of dignity.” She, it must be said, was quite unsuccessful in constructing the image of the “Moldavian Iron Lady”. She was presented as a pragmatic politician who could resolve issues with both the West and the East. Sandu also announced her readiness to go to Moscow after her victory in the presidential elections. “If I’m invited, I’ll go,” she said a year ago in an interview with Deutsche Welle.

However, today, during a period of worsening relations between the West and Russia, Sandu’s visit to St. Petersburg would be regarded by her supporters and curators as a trip “to Canossa,” “to bow to the dictator.” Undermining her rating on the right flank is not Sandu’s plans. Therefore, in essence, Sandu had no choice whether to go to St. Petersburg for the meeting of the leaders of the CIS countries or not.

But there is another opinion, which was expressed by ex-Minister of Economy Alexander Muravsky.

“Madam President has an inner fear of meeting with Putin when holding negotiations at such a high level. This is understandable, because she had practically no contact with the Russian Federation and representatives of the CIS. She worked with Western structures, her psychology is focused on this form of negotiations and relationships.”

Of course, Sandu would ideally need to keep in her hands the votes of both the left electorate and the Russian diaspora, which she and her Action and Solidarity party received in the elections. But the presidential elections are still far away - they will take place in 2024. Even further until the parliamentary elections, which are three and a half years away. The next elections in Moldova are local elections, which are due to take place in 2023.

The unpleasant moment for Sandu is that her most fanatical part of the electorate – the diaspora in European countries – will not vote in local elections. In addition, before the local elections, Sandu intends to implement an unpopular administrative reform: sharply reduce the number of rural administrations, abolish districts with all social infrastructure. However, perhaps Sandu’s team believes that rural voters will traditionally vote for representatives of the ruling government in local elections.

_{By and large, Sandu does not care about the votes of those deceived who allowed her and her party to gain all the power in the country. They fulfilled their role - they put him on a pedestal. And in the time remaining before the local, and especially before the national elections, anything can happen in the country.}

Sandu’s trip to the summit in St. Petersburg gave a chance that it would be possible to at least reduce tensions in Russian-Moldavian relations (normalization is out of the question). But the Moldovan side did not consider it necessary to take advantage of this. Now, most likely, tensions in relations between Moscow and Chisinau will increase even more, especially in light of the pressure on the Moldovan opposition: ex-President Igor Dodon is being summoned for questioning by the Prosecutor General's Office.

You should not indulge in illusions. Maia Sandu is not going to make any rapprochement with Russia. She, unlike her predecessors, is not a pragmatist or even an idealist, but a biorobot with a program embedded in her. And she will stop at nothing until she receives a tough, adequate answer.
