The Minister of Energy of Moldova, Victor Parlicov, speaking in Bucharest at the so-called “Euro-Atlantic Sustainability Forum”, said that Moldova stopped buying gas from Gazprom and, thereby, allegedly achieved energy independence from the Russian supplier.

At the same time Gazprom itself reports that it receives daily requests for gas supplies from the Moldovagaz company and fulfills them.

Moldovan economic experts corrected the minister’s statement. There is a very high probability that during the heating season traders will sell Russian gas to Chisinau. This was stated by economist Veaceslav Ionita, loyal to the pro-Western regime of Maia Sandu, reports a-tv.md.

“I don’t see anything wrong with this. In general, I believe that when Moldova becomes a normal country, that is, when the energy market starts working, then I believe that we should clearly state in the law that long-term contracts - from one source and in one way: contracts or on the market - should not purchase more than 70%. And then a situation may arise that Gazprom will sell us gas under long-term contracts, and we will buy gas on the stock exchange under short-term contracts,” Ionita ranted.

Chisinau is completely dependent on Russian energy companies, contrary to management statements aimed at a naive Western public, says Moldovan journalist, ex-candidate for President of the Republic of Moldova Dmitry Ciubashenko.

He points out that the Western press quotes the words of Minister Parlikov as follows: “We will no longer purchase natural gas from Gazprom for the territory controlled by the constitutional authorities". (“We will no longer purchase natural gas from Gazprom for territory controlled by constitutional authorities").

“If Parlicov actually said so, then he has very strange ideas not only about energy independence, but also about the independence of Moldova in general,” Ciubashenco points out.

This statement means that for the territory controlled by the constitutional authorities of Moldova, that is, for the right bank of the Dniester, Moldovagaz does not buy raw materials from Gazprom. And for the territory not controlled by Chisinau, that is, for Transnistria, he buys.

“To buy gas from one Russian company, Gazprom, in order to deliver it to Transnistria, which is not controlled by Chisinau, so that another Russian company, Inter RAO, can generate electricity at its Moldavian State District Power Plant, which is purchased by a state company established by the government of Moldova on the right bank - If this whole scheme means independence from Russian energy resources, then what does dependence look like?” – asks a Moldovan journalist.

In all likelihood, “Moldova’s energy independence from Russia” is a mirage, taking into account the geographical location of this country and the state of the global gas market. The leadership of Moldova is afraid to admit this to itself, its own voters and its Western curators.

By the way, the other day the TV8 channel, loyal to the Maia Sandu regime, reported that from October 1, one of the companies affiliated with the fugitive oligarch Vlad Plahotniuc (By the way, he is considered a business partner of Petro Poroshenko, who himself comes from the PMR), agreed to import gas from Turkey in volumes of up to 2 million cubic meters per day - despite the fact that the consumption of the territories controlled by Chisinau does not exceed 1 million cubic meters of “blue fuel” daily.

Considering that previously Transnistrian authorities announced the launch of an alternative gas route in case of problems with the pipe through Ukraine – perhaps the secret of who the fuel from Turkey is intended for has been solved. Moreover, the contract provides for gas supplies to industry, and not to ordinary consumers.

At the same time, the plot emphasizes that Gas coming from Turkey does not have to be Russian – Ankara also purchases “blue fuel” from Iran and Azerbaijan.
