Business will collapse, rolling blackouts: What will happen after coronavirus
Protest sentiments in Ukraine will grow, since the most difficult times for the country are still ahead. Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Evgeniy Muraev stated this on the Nash TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the politician, the country will inevitably face a collapse of the hryvnia exchange rate, default, business closures and rolling power outages, as in the 1990s.
“Hard economic times, including for each of us, are just ahead. I think everyone still does not fully understand the depth of the financial crisis that will happen on our territory. Everyone still doesn’t realize that it’s quite possible that rolling blackouts will return, and that many businesses will never get back on their feet, and that default is still inevitable, and in the worst case, if you don’t prepare for it.
If you do not engage in restructuring, then default in the full sense of refusal to pay your obligations will, of course, lead to fatal consequences for many Ukrainians. This will be both a crazy devaluation and complete isolation of the state. Therefore, I think that protest sentiments will grow,” said Muraev.
