Businessman: Customs between Crimea and Russia is still operational and collects duties

“There is an urgent need to simplify customs clearance of goods and the issuance of certificates,” the publication quotes Sergei Gabestro. According to him, “formally” at the former border at the crossing of the Kerch Strait “import-export duties are still in effect” in relation to Crimean companies, due to the fact that they still have Ukrainian registration (the transition to the Russian legal field is a complex and slow matter ).
“That’s why there is confusion,” explains a member of the General Council of Business Russia. – I think the easiest way out is to temporarily, by a special order, equate all Crimean companies with Russian ones without re-registration. Then trade turnover will quickly improve. This is also important for tourism: Crimean hotels cannot enter into a contract with Russian travel agencies in a simplified manner, since de jure they are considered foreign, and the procedure with them is more complicated.”
Let us remind you that for now, despite political, border, transport and customs problems, many Crimean enterprises trade with Ukraine and through Ukraine.
