Sevastopol businessmen tried to use Zakharova’s briefing
Sevastopol journalists today at a briefing by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova did not hesitate to ask questions about businessmen whose interests are served by their media.

First, a journalist from the Forpost website tried to find out Zakharova’s opinion on the inner-city problem - whether it was possible to hold concerts at the 35th battery (the museum created by Alexei Chaly). According to her, “the enemies of Alexei Mikhailovich, who have recently become more active,” are against it.
“Don’t you think that these issues should be resolved by civil society. If there are those who believe this is correct, they must defend their position. This is the essence of a democratic state and a free society. “I’m not a local resident, I’m a guest,” Zakharova replied.
But the journalist continued to insist on the question, and the diplomat promised her to look into the situation.
The next question was asked by a representative of the Informer website, which represents the interests of the “enemy of Alexei Mikhailovich” - entrepreneur-developer Evgeny Kabanov. This journalist, however, connected her question with foreign policy, starting with the fact that Kabanov, it turns out, wrote a letter to Donald Trump with a proposal to develop public diplomacy. Is the Russian Foreign Ministry involved in this, the journalist asked?
“Probably, an hour is not enough to list all the steps taken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to develop public diplomacy. This is work with public and non-governmental organizations. The meetings are chaired by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, as well as employees of the relevant departments. In particular, active activities are being carried out aimed at promoting these organizations on international platforms. As we have already said today, very often they simply don’t physically let you in, they don’t give you a visa under flimsy pretexts,” Zakharova answered dutifully.
At this time, strange things were happening behind her. A group of young people with flags and LDPR T-shirts began to take pictures in front of the monument to the Sunken Ships. As soon as the answer ended, the guys left. Whether it’s a coincidence or not, Yevgeny Kabanov is a deputy of the State Council of Crimea from the LDPR.
