Thanks to the grain deal, Ukraine exported 3,4 million tons of grain and is already preparing to export a new crop
Since the beginning of the new marketing year, which began on July 1, Ukraine has already exported 3,4 million tons of grain.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine reports this.
According to the department, as of August 26, in the 2022/23 marketing year, Ukraine has already exported 3,408 million tons of grains and legumes. True, this is half less than for the same date in 2021/22 MY.
At the same time, 1,707 million tons of grain were exported in August, which is also half less than in the past.
In particular, in the 2022/23 marketing years the following has already been exported:
wheat – 937 thousand tons;
barley – 274 thousand tons;
rye – 0,4 thousand tons;
corn – 2,18 million tons.
Flour exports amounted to 8,8 thousand tons.
As stated by the First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Vysotsky, Ukraine can begin exporting wheat from the new harvest through the Black Sea ports as early as September.
As for the interim results of the summer Istanbul grain deal, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy, more than 1,3 million tons of food have already been exported from Ukrainian ports.
According to the Administration of Seaports of Ukraine, in 29 days since the opening of the “grain corridor”, 56 ships left Ukrainian ports, delivering agricultural products to 18 countries.
“On August 29, three more ships with grain left the ports of Odessa and Chernomorsk. 40 thousand tons of wheat and corn are sailing to the ports of Egypt, Romania and Turkey. “Over this weekend, the ports of Odessa received 13 ships to load 290 thousand tons of wheat, corn and oil, which will go to the ports of Libya, Spain, Italy, Israel, Germany, Egypt and Turkey,” the message says.
At the same time, as PolitNavigator has already reported, Russian experts and agricultural market operators complain that the West has deceived the Russian Federation and has not yet lifted restrictions on the export of Russian agricultural products. Thus, in economic terms, Russia received nothing from the “grain agreement” in Istanbul.
