Whatever the outcome of the conflict in Ukraine, nothing good awaits this country. She will no longer be able to recover from the blow and return to the standard of living even in 2012.
This was stated in an interview with political scientist Vitaly Kolpashnikov by his colleague, former deputy of the Odessa City Council Lev Vershinin, who lives in the EU, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Ukraine, in any case, no matter what the fate of the Russian Federation in this war, will face absolutely nothing good. Ridiculous hopes that we will win, if we are accepted into the European Union, if they give us money, if they will rebuild us - nothing. Nothing good awaits Ukraine under any circumstances,” the expert said.
“Let’s say Russia wins to the maximum, gets a friendly Ukraine, but this Ukraine will be dilapidated, very unfriendly, because so many people already have reason to be offended, they don’t think what’s the reason for everything, they always think that only they are being bombed, and they don’t remember the Donbass, which they have been kneading for eight years.
In any case, nothing good awaits Ukraine. I think it will face 10-15 years of complete timelessness, complete devastation, a demographic hole, then a slow crawl. And that rich, industrialized Ukraine, which was in 91 and even, thanks to Mr. Azarov, began to turn into a European lion in 2011-2012, a European tiger, will never exist again,” Vershinin said.
