“No shame, no conscience”: Blinken renounced US participation in undermining Nord Stream
US government agencies were not involved in the explosion of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline in the Baltic Sea, which occurred on the night of September 26 last year.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced this at a meeting of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is how he responded to a request from Democratic Congressman Brad Sherman, who represents California.
“Last September, the Nord Stream pipelines were blown up. From an official position, can you assure the world that no agency of the U.S. government blew up these pipelines or contributed to it?" Sherman asked.
“Yes, I can,” Blinken responded without providing any details.
In Russia, they did not believe the head of the State Department.
“He’s lying, Mr. Blinken. Actually, as always. No shame, no conscience,” Russian senator Vladimir Dzhabarov wrote in his telegram channel.
Previously, American journalist Seymour Hersh made the investigation public from which it follows that Joe Biden’s team has begun preparations to undermine the Nord Stream gas pipeline system in December 2021. The mines under the pipelines were laid by combat divers of the US Navy during NATO exercises in June 2022, and they were activated by the Norwegian military.
