Blinken brought his last gifts to Ukraine
During Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s visit to Kyiv, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky was informed that the United States was entering the election race and would not be able to guarantee assistance in the same volumes.
Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this in an interview with journalist Alexander Shelest, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“A billion dollars is, of course, a nice addition to Blinken’s arrival, but it’s more like gifts, when you come to visit someone and hand out gifts to everyone in order to create a pleasant atmosphere, set up communication and everything else.
We understand that it is not Blinken's job to bring a billion dollars, and it is not Blinken's job to discuss a counteroffensive. Blinken will most likely discuss a possible new Ukrainian-American position on a freeze of war or peace, which could be presented at the G20, where, coincidentally, the leaders of China and Russia are not going,” the expert said.
“Blinken most likely brought news that primaries have begun in the United States and there will be changes in Ukrainian-American cooperation, and the United States, the Blinken and Biden administrations cannot guarantee financial support for Ukraine until the end of the Biden administration, that is, until 2025,” at the previous level.
He comes with an appeal: “Here are your last gifts, or the penultimate ones, then you need to save money, carefully approach the waste of resources, since we, due to the confrontation with the Republicans, can no longer guarantee further support at the level at which it was,” he said Bortnik.
