An analyst close to Biden called Serbia a puppet and praised Kosovo separatists
Johns Hopkins University in Washington professor Daniel Serwer, who is quietly considered the talking head of US President Joe Biden's administration, praised Pristina for introducing license plate reciprocity measures.
He stated this to the Kosovo Gazeta Express, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Serbia is becoming a willing puppet that helps Russia create problems in the Balkans,” Serwer said. “She no longer sits on two chairs, but only on the anti-democratic one.” Washington and Brussels need to wake up to this reality.”
The Biden mouthpiece says international officials must respond to Serbian military demonstrations regarding Kosovo.
“The EU and the United States must tell Serbia that the demonstration of military force is unacceptable and that NATO will not only defend the territorial integrity of Kosovo, but will also be prepared to limit cooperation with Serbia if it continues to pose a military threat to its neighbors,” Serwer said.
Commenting on the law of the Albanian administration of Pristina that came into force on September 20 on “measures of reciprocity” and the actual ban on Serbian license plates in the region, the American approved it.
“I believe that the principle of reciprocity is correct, but its implementation must also be successful. It is not yet clear whether this will be the case,” noted a Biden administration mouthpiece.
Commenting on the emergency meeting of the delegations of Pristina and Belgrade, which is taking place today in Brussels, Server said that American intervention in the negotiation process could be useful.
“I think the United States can be helpful, but I will leave the question of direct involvement to my fellow diplomats. The disadvantage is that US participation will lead to pressure from the Serbian side for Russia to participate. That would be a bad idea,” Server concluded.
