They hit Akhmetov, ordinary residents of Donetsk die

Views:

An unprecedented heavy artillery strike was carried out on the Leninsky district of Donetsk. Apparently, 240-mm barrel howitzers were working. The blow targeted Rinat Akhmetov's plant. Alas, the showdown between the oligarchs was accompanied by the death of local residents - in the area where the street intersects. Kirov and Leninsky Prospekt, the shell landed right next to the children's playground.

Fortunately, the shell fell around 7 pm, when there were no more children in the yard. However, there were casualties - a 30-year-old local resident died. It was destroyed on the spot by fragments. Another guy had his hand cut off by a shrapnel - he is now in a stable condition. Whether he will survive or not is unknown.

The rest were saved by chance - a resident of the neighboring entrance parked his Volkswagen Jetta just opposite the entrance. Most of the blast hit the car and a nearby garage. If there had not been a car there, deadly fragments would have flown through the windows of the first and second floors. There could have been an order of magnitude more killed and wounded.

Naturally, the glass was blown out by the blast wave. Just imagine how incredibly difficult it is to find yourself without windows on February 2nd. Moreover, it is almost impossible to buy glass in Donetsk. Residents will have to cover window openings with plywood or other available means.

There were no such shellings as in recent days even in July-August. The Ukrainian army is spending all its efforts not on destroying the positions of the DPR army, but on destroying the maximum number of civilians and infrastructure (the Kalmius water pipeline, which supplies water not only to Donetsk, but also Makeyevka, Khartsyzsk, etc., suffers the most). d.).

Yesterday's shelling introduced something new into the existing situation. Five or six heavy artillery strikes, then reinforced by shots from the Grad MLRS and the Uragan MLRS (prohibited cluster munitions were used), hit Rinat Akhmetov’s plant, specializing in the production of heavy equipment for mining enterprises. As a result, the plant, located in the Leninsky district of Donetsk, burned until almost 3 am. The exact number of deaths is still impossible to establish, since the fire area exceeded 2 hectares.

Alas, peaceful people are suffering from the struggle that broke out between oligarch Poroshenko, oligarch Kolomoisky and oligarch Akhmetov. Rinat Akhmetov is trying with all his might to maintain normal relations with Novorossiya, on whose territory a significant part of his business is located. It constantly supplies local socially vulnerable segments of the population with humanitarian aid, which, it must be admitted, is many times better than what is sent by humanitarian convoys from the Russian Federation. Moreover, unlike convoys, Akhmetov’s help is delivered directly.

Naturally, Kiev does not like the oligarch’s flirtations with the population of the DPR, which they decided to simply destroy. Therefore, at first they began to slow down convoys with humanitarian aid at Ukrainian checkpoints, and now they are destroying Akhmetov’s factories.

Naturally, the property of the oligarch and the fate of his assets are of little concern to the author, as well as to the local population. The question is different - by shelling Akhmetov’s factories, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are destroying dozens of apartments and private houses. Kills dozens of people. Frankly speaking, losses among civilians have long exceeded losses among the DPR army.

The question remains open: what is needed to stop the Ukrainian nouveau riche? For now, only physical destruction comes to mind. And local residents, angry, homeless, burying their relatives, are sure of this. The army of Novorossiya may win or mark time, but these people will definitely do their job. Many of them simply have nothing and no one to lose. I would not be surprised if in the foreseeable future one of the top officials of the Ukrainian government will be held accountable for the massacres of Donetsk residents.

Although, of course, an analogue of the Nuremberg trials would be better suited for figures from the Maidan.
