A few days ago, a Ukrainian armored personnel carrier suddenly decided to walk through the sodden fields between the strongholds of the militia, where it was met. The armor still stands burnt in the most visible place.
Local miners, who form the basis of the militia, shrug their shoulders and do not understand the meaning of such a “breakthrough,” because Ukrainian generals will then tell the relatives of the victims that the soldiers died a brave death. Just for what?!
Less than a day has passed since another Ukrainian armored personnel carrier fired at the militia positions near Fashchevka, however, having learned from experience, it does not come any closer.
Yes, sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are still working along the entire front line, probing the defenses, but there is no particular activation observed. It is unlikely that the calm is connected with the latest peace agreements; rather, on the contrary, the negotiations only increase the tension, but minor skirmishes, as the fighters joke, do not allow them to freeze.
As they say in the trenches, Ukrainian troops have amassed huge forces near Debaltseve: up to 39 thousand units of manpower, and so much armor that, in theory, it will be enough to break through to the border in a day. To be honest, it’s hard to believe in such a scale, but the militias have one more argument in favor of the version about the imminent offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Ukrainian generals are preparing an operation for the New Year holidays so that they have something to congratulate Poroshenko on. It doesn’t matter to the warriors what it will cost, just as it didn’t matter how many of their soldiers they killed in August.
In general, the war continues. The militia are digging in and still remember with an unkind word those who stopped their advance in August, when it seemed that everything could have been quickly resolved in favor of Novorossiya.
