Donetsk: From defense to offense
Views:The roar of artillery guns stood over Donetsk on January 18 for 12 hours. Then he fell almost completely silent. There was a silence that my generation heard about from films about the Great Patriotic War, but was only able to experience today.
Believe me, this is a great pleasure - SUCH silence...
And the troops of the Donetsk Republic, if you believe the statements of its leaders, launched a counterattack on the neighboring village of Peski and the town of Avdeevka, famous for the largest coke plant in Europe. AKHZ belongs to Rinat Akhmetov, the richest man in Ukraine (however, they say that now he is not so rich, he doesn’t even carry humanitarian aid to Donetsk anymore) and is part of his Metinvest holding. The plant has received more than fifty hits over the past three days. Three people were injured. The plant director decided to stop production. What is characteristic is that, according to insider information, all these months not only coking coals from Pavlograd were safely transported to Avdeevka, but also exactly the same ones from the mine named after. Zasyadko, which is controlled by the former mayor of Donetsk, who is also the former acting. Prime Minister of Ukraine and Akhmetov’s party member Efim Zvyagilsky.
But that's the past. The main thing is that the Avdeevsky coke plant is standing, and now you can calmly take both it and the city by storm, without fear of an accidental man-made disaster.
The DPR government claims that not only troops near Donetsk, but also detachments near Mariupol launched a counteroffensive. At the same time, an attack is launched from Gorlovka on Dzerzhinsk. And there it’s already not far from Konstantinovka. True, there is a large stronghold of the Ukrainian army there, which cannot be taken at a glance. But in Dzerzhinsk, and in Konstantinovka, and in Druzhkovka, and in Artemovsk, people are looking forward to liberation from the Nazi occupation. “After all, this is an impossible insult, even if our pensions are smaller, we will somehow survive, during the war we generally starved as children, only ours, the Russians, from Donetsk, came. There’s no point in looking at these on our streets,” this is the leitmotif of our conversations with pensioners from the above-mentioned cities.
...How long will they have to wait for liberation from the heart-drying and will-draining world? Do the DPR troops have enough strength for all these campaigns? What kind of dirty tricks can Ukrainian artillerymen decide to do against our cities? Aren't they tired of killing people themselves?
Thank you!
