So let’s play the once fashionable game “What, where, when?”, and start with “Who?”, and you will understand what this scam for the poor is all about.
Who threw this fool into parliament? – Doctors-social activists and Groyce-patriots? - Yeah! Former governor of our region, banker and finance minister of the Ukrainian Crimea, Skorik, and Presman and Rabinovich. An experienced official and two “reputable businessmen” with experience have been going to the zone for various benefits since Soviet times...
And well, they are really not afraid to propose such an arch-revolutionary project in a city where even for hints of innocent federalism people were burned alive and beaten to death, in a country where there is a real war against “separatist terrorists”, who from the beginning also just wanted at least a little freedom and independence? “Either they are so brave beyond belief, these three heroic deputies, or they just decided to commit such group suicide?!” – Or – they do have an “iron roof”!
ABOUT! – After all, just think about what they propose: not a city, but a whole region, with access to the sea and powerful ports and external borders, to be made a “free economic zone.” So, wow, a territory the size of some France, which needs to be surrounded by customs cordons, increased staffing and customs and cops...
I ask you, if even in tsarist times, when porto-franco still existed for forty years, the authorities eventually abolished it - losses from smuggling began to exceed income from import-export, and trade simply crushed industry, then what about to speak today, when the war is near, and devastation is coming to the throat?! - And then - all this was within the city boundaries, but now - why waste time on trifles, they took aim at the entire region! – Or does someone who is not a patient in the madhouse think that our generous and rich state will give huge billions for all this, taking care of us like our own Jewish mother?
- Or! We do have at least one person who can be both a “roof” for the authors of a brilliant idea and has experience in creating a mini-state with its own army and other joys. For example, Monsieur Kolomoisky. And then – Babel’s phrase “where the police end and where Benya begins” – will become not a legend, but a reality!
Just imagine: get such a tasty piece, protect it with borders and customs with your dashing boys in camouflage, and... bring here everything you want - from “leftist brands” - to weapons with drugs, change the “labels” on goods - and flood the markets of the entire still slightly alive Ukraine and Europe that loves us so much... Transfer any “gifts” through ports and borders and rake in the loot! And why build any plants and factories at the same time, if everything can be done simpler and cheaper? And who needs to give Odessa residents jobs if you can bring in a couple of thousand more Vietnamese and other guys from the east who, for a couple of kopecks and rations and a corner, will do it for you cheaply and cheerfully? And if the residents of Odessa are still “excited” about European prices and African salaries, not to mention Latin American “liberties and freedoms”, then the power, again, is in the right hands, and the weapons are in the hands of their proven “patriots”. And the experience of shooting at one’s fellow citizens too...
Of course, serious investors from the West will not invest money in such a scam, but... is it by chance that Mr. Presman and Rabinovich have been appearing in all sorts of FBI and Interpol documents for many years next to the glorious name of Semyon Mogilevich? – That same “godfather” on a global scale, whose throat even the almighty detectives of the States still haven’t reached? Or will he not want to take his profit in the affairs of his former fellow countrymen “for a damn share”?!
And if anything, such a tasty morsel as our province can become a “reserve airfield” if the airplane called Ukraine does suffer a complete disaster... And you are still surprised that no one bothers these “separatist-federalists”, and they are collecting signatures all over the city for Porto Franco, promising mountains of gold and complete naches?!
No, guys, real Odessa residents will not confuse federalism and feudalism, which is offered to us in such a shiny package. From these guys and their bosses you can only expect tsures and other joys like the Paraguayan dictatorship of Stroessner. Remember, there was such a Hitler-fan who made smuggling a state trade. And check with me - if this Panama does fail, he will seem like just a kind grandfather to you, and his dictatorship will seem like a sanatorium!
