The main symbol of resistance to the Nazi regime in Kyiv

Views:

The King of Denmark said in 1942: “If Jews are forced to wear a symbol that distinguishes them from other fellow citizens, then I will wear it too.” In today's Ukraine, the “St. George Ribbon” has become a symbol of resistance.

“If you don’t wear prohibited symbols, there won’t be any problems,” they said. But on May 9, lawyer Elena Berezhnaya was beaten and illegally detained by the regime’s dogs for wearing orange-blue-orange ribbons on her clothes, which even the Nazi Kiev regime had not yet thought of banning.

It’s time to finally understand: they will kill us, even if we hang ourselves with red and black ribbons and poppies, and together with them we shout “glory to the heroes.” They don’t hit us “on the passport” or even “on the face”, they don’t even demand that we change the thoughts in our heads - they want to either deprive us of all political freedoms or push us out of the country.

If someone thinks that this is impossible in modern Europe, I recommend that you familiarize yourself with the history of the genocide and deportation of Serbs in Croatia, Bosnia and Kosovo at the end of the twentieth century, or with the modern life of millions of people in Latvia and Estonia under the apartheid regime. And all this happened and is happening with the connivance or direct support of the European Union, which hypocritically celebrates “Europe Day” on May 9.

In the late 80s, I publicly wore the Komsomol and blue-yellow badges side by side, and this infuriated the public with totalitarian sentiments on both sides. In today's Ukraine, to publicly wear the “St. George Ribbon” requires much more courage than to demonstrate national symbols during the Soviet era. But if in 1991 blue and yellow flags were transformed from an attribute of protest into a boring officialdom, then the “St. George Ribbon” from a symbol of Victory and Moscow over four years in Ukraine turned into the main symbol of protest against the ruling regime in Kyiv.

Therefore, until such time as the power of Poroshenko-Avakov, supported by C14 bats and Azov bayonets, foams at the sight of orange and black colors, every decent person should wear them - even if his attitude towards the authorities of Russia and the “DPR/LPR” is critical . However, the terror on the streets of Kyiv, Odessa, Kharkov, Lvov and other cities is not perpetrated by Putin, but by the Kyiv and local authorities, who, since the coup in February 2014, have built a classic Nazi regime in the controlled part of Ukraine.

Perhaps those who take the position “I am against the regime, but I will not wear the St. George’s ribbon” will be convinced by the example of King Christian H. of Denmark. Speaking in 1942 in a Copenhagen synagogue, he stated that “if the Jews of Denmark are forced to wear a symbol that distinguishes them from other fellow citizens, then my family and I will also wear this symbol.” It is not surprising that during World War II, only 100 Danish Jews became victims of the Nazi regime.
