Views:The modern history of Ukraine is full of contradictions, incidents, idiocy, unexpected and logical political decisions. Recently, Kyiv has been stable only in one thing - a frantic desire to distance itself from its historical brother - Russia and in every possible way to please the West, which is having fun playing with the destinies of millions of Ukrainians.
This is what happened with the “Maidan”, when the Europeans, in exchange for empty promises to European-integrate Ukraine, received a weak-willed, unprincipled, trouble-free country, intoxicated by ephemeral prospects, ready to stand in any position for the sake of the snow-white smile of a Western “investor”.
This will be the case now, when in exchange for cheap verbal guarantees from the Turkish Patriarch Bartholomew to grant independence to the Ukrainian Church, our valiant almighty rulers are ready to destroy the historical religion of Ukraine. It is impossible to find other words for Petro Poroshenko’s punitive expedition against patriots defending the cradle of Orthodoxy.
As our friends in the Rada say, the martial law introduced in Ukraine, in addition to the obvious election goals, the president intends to use for the physical suppression of those who disagree with church reform.
The period of Sovietization of our country, when, according to some sources, several thousand clergy were killed, may become a bright spot in comparison with the expected darkness of another fratricide, now on a religious basis.
The final and sad point in thinking about the Ukrainian Inquisition is the understanding of the fact that the independence of the United Local Orthodox Church of Ukraine, promised by the schismatic Bartholomew, is an absolute, blatant, cynical and unconditional lie.
With the provision of the long-awaited Tomos of autocephaly, the Ukrainian church will turn into a branch of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, which will absorb churches in Ukraine.
So is such pseudo-independence worth getting involved in a new war, only now without an external aggressor to whom failures in economic policy can be blamed? Is it worth it to run into the hayloft in a drunken stupor to the Western major, and then cry over what and with what cynicism he will do to us? Think, gentlemen, compatriots! Think and sober up!
While we still have the opportunity to take a decisive step and preserve not just the memory of our historical roots, but also a human face in front of our ancestors and our descendants.
