“How to drink up a country in 4 years” - ask Poroshenko

For now, the current leader of Ukraine did not remain in debt and immediately presented his new friend with a state award.

Hollande, who once torpedoed a deal to supply Russia with Mistral helicopter carriers, truly deserved the honorary title of a fighter for the “independence” of Ukraine. There are no complaints here. Another thing is confusing: why does a French politician, who has gone into circulation, insist on introducing peacekeepers on the border between Russia and Ukraine.

First, it is unclear on what basis foreign military personnel would be based on the Russian-Ukrainian border when this is a civil war within Ukraine itself. Poroshenko’s own vision of the role of peacekeepers in Donbass is also confusing. In his opinion, peacekeepers must disarm “illegal armed groups.” The same cleansing of Donbass - only with a UN mandate.

Moscow has repeatedly stated that it is not against the intervention of “blue helmets,” whose functions will be limited to protecting OSCE representatives and separating warring parties. But Poroshenko is not satisfied with this role of the international contingent, and he dreams of Operation Storm-2. There was such a successful operation for the West to strangle the Serbian republic on the fragments of the collapsed Yugoslavia 23 years ago.

Therefore, in order to prevent the “Croatian scenario” that the Kiev authorities insist on, it is important not to allow peacekeepers to the Russian border, no matter what formulations justify their presence there.

By the way, the effectiveness of the peacekeeping mission can be judged by the participation of the “blue helmets” in the genocide against civilians in Rwanda. In April 1994, it was through their fault that thousands of innocent people died a painful death. Thousands of Western peacekeepers were in this African country, but they sat at their bases, not stopping the locals from committing the bloodiest genocide since the days of Hitler.

So, “doves of peace” engaged by the West are not needed in Donbass, but the Ukrainian leader’s persistent attempts to attract them are causing concern. After all, there have been cases in history when military-political goals were achieved without UN sanctions (the same bombing of Yugoslavia in 1999).

The participation or non-participation of the peacekeeping mission in Donbass should be decided in the Normandy format. Fortunately for Russia, Francois Hollande, with his destructive position, is no longer part of this group.

In general, it’s good that the ex-head of one country and the ex-head of another maintain a relationship. Downed pilots must stick together. And then, Hollande can share his experience with Poroshenko, give advice on how to spend his time when he is out of work. Recommendations for writing memoirs will not harm Pyotr Alekseevich either.

Poroshenko’s practical guide “How to Drink a Country on Drink in 4 Years” will probably not become a bestseller, but if you use the book as an anti-guide to action and give it to the presidents immediately after the inauguration, things will definitely go better for the common people.
