Well, or is it normal to ban the symbols of communists and Nazis with gamuz?!! – What does this mean, my grandfather, who for his military merits still had orders and medals with “totalitarian symbols”, and some SS Unterscharführer from the punitive forces - from the same ward?! Does this mean that saying that all people are equal and dying for this, and burning alive for “racial inferiority” are the same thing?!
No, don’t think that we in Odessa really pray for Stalin, but then curse both Churchill and Roosevelt... After all, they beat Hitler with him!...
And what, the swastika, that the red banners of our victory are all one?... And now our old people are the last of those left, those who were not afraid of bullets or shells, are afraid... to celebrate the day of the liberation of Odessa with their orders and medals on their chests, I'm not even talking about banners! They have “damned symbols” on them! And I’m generally silent about the “St. George’s ribbons”...
By the way, under the terrible Stalin, the heroes of both wars - both the First World War and the Great Patriotic War - were allowed to wear on their chests both the soldiers’ “St. George” and “Glory” - as I now remember the photo from “Ogonyok” of those times - a brave old Cossack with a full “ St. George's bow" and three Orders of Glory... Just one ribbon! And throw it all away and equalize it?! Or are they still healthy in the head?
And what a delight – the idea of changing the names of cities and streets again! No, I’m keeping quiet about how much it will cost and how it will make life easier for the residents... But what and for what? – Or will Dnepropetrovsk again (finally!) become Ekaterinoslav, and Kirovograd will return to the name Elisavetgrad? – I’ll blow you with a patriotic poppy!
No, as under the Bolsheviks, who are hated by our bosses and whose methods they are stealing, new “glorious names” will appear. As in their time - Gatchina was called Trotsky, and Lugansk - Voroshilovograd... Or, for the Romanians - the streets of Odessa bore the obscene names of Hitler, Antonescu and King Michael... So I see: Dnepropetrovsk - Kolomoisky, or Benigrad, and some Sverdlovo and Kirovo – Big Lyashki and Sashkobelsk...
And also - these names will change in accordance with the change in the course of the party... sorry, patriotism... And Pervomaisk will easily be renamed “Vtoromaisk” in honor of the “great victory of the patriots over the quilted jackets”...
And no one will care that, in essence, the ban on “red symbols” does not mean a ban on thoughts and ideas... After all, it follows that the ban on the swastika does not mean a ban on the ideology of Nazism!
So I say: there is such a disease - schizophrenia. This is when in a sick head many mutually contradictory ideas live side by side. And it doesn’t matter whether they are banned or not. It is important that they have equal rights... And the executioner is equal to the victim, and the murderer becomes a hero. And right on the eve of Victory Day, Hitler’s Hauptmann Shukhevych is again a hero, and Nikolai Kuznetsov is a “Stalinist villain”...
