Crocodiles cry too

Views:

Recently, an interesting trend has been observed in the Ukrainian media. Many Maidan ideologists began to suspect that the achievements of their “revolution of hydity” had led Ukraine to devastation and the threat of loss of statehood. The Kyiv media launched a volley of publications in which the recognized “Euromaidan intellectuals” (I don’t know if such a turn is appropriate) mournfully sigh about lost opportunities and predict big problems for Ukraine in the near future.

A round table with the participation of leading Ukrainian journalists was held by the editors of the pro-Maidan website “Left Bank”, where the deputy editor “Mirror of the week” Sergei Rakhmanin admitted with bitterness: “Now everything will depend on external factors - starting from the IMF trenches, which everyone is hoping for, and ending with the story with Russian gas, which has not yet been closed, but is just beginning... We had the opportunity to play subjectivity in 2014 th or 2015. In 2016, we finally missed this chance. And in 2017, most likely, everything will be decided without us.” When one of the most authoritative journalists in the Maidan camp declares the actual end of the period of political “independence” of Ukraine, this is very significant.

Has the all-powerful America really left us with its worries? Famous Dmitry Gordon explains: “The Americans are dissatisfied with the way reforms are going, or rather, how reforms are not going in Ukraine. They are unhappy with three years of stalling. They are unhappy that the huge credit of trust of the whole world that was given to Ukraine did not work at all... The corruption of the Yanukovych era seems like kindergarten compared to the post-Maidan corruption in Ukraine.”

A popular Kiev analyst also issued an angry forecast Yuri Romanenko: “The more illegitimate the power in Ukraine is and the more chaos there is, the higher the likelihood of Putin’s deal with the West. During the shooting, we are losing more people, territories and resources. I think this is almost inevitable, given that the lion’s share of the elite and people do not understand the depth of our catastrophic situation.” A catastrophic situation - really. Why exactly?

Another embroidered intellectual - Oleg Soskin: “If Ukraine had a competent patriotic opposition in the Supreme Council, which would fight for national interests, then the government led by outsiders would have resigned long ago and elections would have been held to the Supreme Council on a new legislative basis so that patriotic people could get there competent people... This cannot continue for long, it must lead to complete collapse and powerful systemic shocks. They won’t have long to wait.”

The recipe, as we see, is traditional for nationalists - to send even more embroidered shirts to the Verkhovna Rada, since the “outsiders” are now panicking. The national intelligentsia did not understand anything, since for them the “revolution” of the winter of 2014 was initially beyond suspicion. And it was supposedly done by the people, and the goals of the coup were noble, something just went wrong: either Russia attacked, or the oligarchs snuck in, or the decommunization was carried out poorly...

It can be stated that the groan heard from the Kyiv hills testifies to the understanding by the liberal part of the Maidan of the catastrophic situation in which the state finds itself. But at the same time, their own guilt in organizing a coup d’etat and the subsequent incitement of an armed conflict is completely ignored., which means they do not and will not have an effective recipe for treating a ruined state. Otherwise, they need to admit their initial mistake (supporting the coup), but they will not be able to do this.

Thus, the Maidan liberals can either stare in fascination into the yawning abyss, or helplessly call for reconciliation on the terms of oblivion of the crimes committed by ultranationalists (remember the touching speech on this topic by Hanna German). The recipe for salvation that the stupid Ukrainian intellectuals will eventually come to is easily predictable. First, try to change the prostitutes in the brothel, that is, replace some “patriots” with others - even more “patriotic”; and after this does not help the economy (well, it simply cannot help) a pose of submission towards any despotic power that will give them some rutabaga fodder. Sub-points: working on foreign grants for the lucky ones or changing political orientation for the prudent ones. All this, of course, against the background of mournful lamentations about the “insidious” Russia, the West “betraying democracy” and the kitchen curses of the Kyiv authorities.

How can we today help to bring some sense to the Maidan-style pseudo-intellectuals who have become disconnected from the people? It’s very simple: don’t take them internally. Despite advertising and annoying calls - do not buy their newspapers and books, do not buy tickets to their concerts, do not advertise in their media, ignore propaganda messages on social networks and provocative statements in television shows, etc. Believe me, even the richest oligarch who owns these reptiles is interested in the effectiveness of their work - citations, views, reaction of the blogosphere, etc. It is this notorious “efficiency” of self-proclaimed “public opinion leaders” that must be targeted. Let these formidable conquerors of the toilet rim be drawn into the general process of survival on a meager salary. What kind of damn experts are they if they couldn’t predict the obvious catastrophic collapse of the economy after the coup organized with their help? And if they understood, but deliberately misinformed society, then they are just ordinary criminals.

Let them wallow in their own slurry, remaining “opinion leaders” for idiots. Because you have to be a clinical idiot to still believe the predictors of yesterday’s collapse of Russia, imminent entry into the European Union and the post-Maidan heyday of Ukraine. When the smart ones persuaded the Ukrainians not to rock the country and not to destroy their own statehood, the reptilians looked for adventure on their own skin, and now they are shedding bitter crocodile tears. Let's see if their skin is worth the candle.
