Lugansk: The point of no return has been passed

It is almost impossible to understand the logic of the behavior of the current Ukrainian government. Then its representatives with an important look participate in all meetings of contact groups in Minsk and create loud scandals if some comma is not agreed upon with them, and then, with the ink still wet, at the Kiev level they make decisions that contradict all the negotiated commas, and even and with an undisguised grin: they say, how we fooled everyone.

Any psychiatrist will regard such behavior as obvious signs of mental illness: mood swings, aggressiveness, persecution mania, impaired thinking and memory, delusions, hallucinations, emotional instability - schizophrenia in its purest form. It is obvious that patients, in general, need to be treated, and in especially severe cases, isolated. The punitive troops have long formed an opinion about the quality of the Donetsk pills and the effectiveness of the Luhansk injections, and it must be said that the defenders of Donbass are always ready to open the “first aid kit” and calm the raging patient. Yes, in the conditions of a protracted war and permanent negotiations, the Republic is able to use radical methods of therapy, but hope remains that it is possible to get by with more gentle manipulations - those written in the Minsk agreements.

So, it is clear: it is impossible to detect logic in Kyiv’s actions. Judge for yourself: the Verkhovna Rada adopts a law on holding local government elections and at the same time excludes the territory of the declared republics from the list of participants. The Verkhovna Rada adopts amendments to the Constitution, but the main requirement – ​​the special status of Donbass – is not included in the amendments. Kyiv does not conduct any negotiations with representatives of the LPR and DPR, because for it the republics are the territory of rebel slaves and serfs, with whom it was decided not to talk, but to destroy them.

In general, all attempts to achieve a dialogue with Kiev are reminiscent of a conversation between a deaf and a mute, where Kiev alternately pretends to be hard of hearing or swallowed his tongue: this is what the “stars and stripes voices in his head” recommended to him - agree to everything, but do everything exactly the opposite. In principle, the behavioral quirks of Kyiv were outlined in two succinct words by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, as they say - neither subtract nor add, and Donbass agrees with this characterization, therefore it strictly follows the Minsk agreements and is preparing for local elections.

The head of the LPR, Igor Plotnitsky, signed an invitation to representatives of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights to participate in the electoral process in the LPR in order to comply with the organization’s electoral standards. The authorized representative of the LPR, Vladislav Deinego, personally conveyed the invitation to the OSCE representatives in the Minsk Group.

– Back in May, we submitted a draft Election Law, which fully complies with the standards, principles and rules of the OSCE ODIHR. The set of measures provides for the implementation of a political package, in particular the launching of a law on a special status, then a discussion on its basis of the modality of elections and the adoption of a law on local elections in Donbass. The essence of our actions is the full implementation of the Minsk agreements,” said Vladislav Deinego.

Of course, there is a high probability that Kyiv will perceive the elections in the republics as a strong and, frankly speaking, the only convenient reason for a demonstrative withdrawal from the Minsk process. It is possible that this will be followed by an increase in military activity on the line of contact - Ukrainian punitive forces will begin to bomb Donbass without regard for diplomatic vicissitudes.

But in this case, no one can blame Lugansk and Donetsk for the decision to hold a referendum - with questions that were raised a year and a half ago in Crimea. The point of return, by and large, has long been passed, now even principled, mossy skeptics admit this, and, in my opinion, it’s time to go to a photo studio to take pictures for a new passport without queuing.
