Masha Gaidar, who serves as deputy to the Odessa governor Saakashvili, has a birthday today. What would you like to wish her on this day? There is only one thing - to quickly resign and urgently leave Odessa before it’s too late.

Let me explain. This must be done in order not to live with the horrors with which her heroic great-grandfather Arkady Petrovich lived. And over time, knowing her pedigree, they will definitely appear.

Knowing also the fate of her dad, we can assume that, apparently, this is a family affair with the Gaidars. A family curse or something.

Let me remind you that Gaidar the great-grandfather served in Khakassia in the early 20s, where he committed atrocities, God forbid, sending poor Khakassians to the next world. He was demobilized from the army with a diagnosis of “traumatic neurosis.” As recorded in his “medical file,” while still in service, he “developed irritability, malice, and cruelty. There were cases of unnecessary executions, brashness appeared, a disregard for everything, unhingedness... Attacks of melancholy anger began to appear, spasms in the throat, drowsiness, and crying.”

Then, in the 30s, Gaidar began drinking vodka. If vodka did not help, then he closed himself off from his loved ones and began cutting himself with a razor. Some say it was in order to kill the terrible headaches that he had as a result of his neurosis, others because he dreamed of people he killed during his youth as a commander.

They say that Masha’s dad, our glorious “liberal” reformer from the magazine “Communist” Yegor Timurych, also drank. Loved whiskey. That’s what he said: “Whiskey is a drink that I love and that I understand.” Whiskey, as they say, brought him to his grave at such a young age.

Then political scientist and writer Stas Belkovsky played on all this in his amazingly talented play “Repentance”. In his version, Gaidar drank himself to death because he realized that all his reforms were just a bluff with which he ruined a great country. So the whiskey drove away from him all the horror that, after realizing what he had done, washed over him.

So, Masha Gaidar came to the wrong city to pursue her career. Odessa is not the city where you need to show your managerial qualities. Even in spite of the so unloved Putin, the so unloved Vatniks and Colorados.

Saakashvili’s team actually established itself on the bones, on the bones of Odessa residents, whom the Right Sectors burned on May 2, 2014. Yes, Masha Gaidar had nothing to do with their deaths - she did not throw Molotov cocktails at the House of Trade Unions, did not shoot at those who tried to escape from the fire through the windows, and did not finish off those who jumped down. But by agreeing to work in Saakashvili’s team, she actually approved their deaths.

It just won't work out for her. Reforms, especially liberal ones, will not work with such a background. Moreover, dead Odessa residents will eventually come to Masha Gaidar in a dream.

And how will she fight to live with all these horrors? Cut yourself with a razor like your great-grandfather, or drink whiskey like your dad? Will this help? Here, even if instead of a nightie she puts on a padded jacket and ties herself all over with “Colorado ribbons,” she will not be able to avoid nightmares.

So it’s better for Masha to leave Odessa before it’s too late.
