Minsk: Maidan rehearsal
Views:Maidan participants are usually well mobilized, have coordination structures, funding, means of communication, and support from the media - primarily foreign Western ones and their own pro-Western ones.
And this is their difference from the overwhelming majority of the population, which, due to disunity and unawareness of the threat, turns into a suppressed majority.
It is worth recalling the simple truth of “color revolutions” - to organize and successfully carry out a soft (or hard, if the soft option fails) coup, only 1-3% of active participants from the total population and 10% - involved, loyal when the authorities try to act by suggestions and appeals to common sense.
And, of course, with active “moral”, informational, financial and other support from the outside.
In Belarus, they are rehearsing or are already beginning to implement the traditional “color revolution” scenario.
Not all prepared episodes have been shown yet: the exit under “harmless” slogans – for everything good, against everything bad. Then clashes with the police, the first “victims” in the world media. Next are the slogans: “The government is at war with the people.” Then - “a voice from the crowd” - “we are not for the protesters, we are not against them, but it is unacceptable to treat their children like this!” The opposition’s demand to condemn the police for allegedly exceeding their powers and inadequate use of force... And then the calls of the “world democratic community” not to use force against peaceful protesters.
Why do everyone who calls themselves guardians of ephemeral “European values” in the post-Soviet space prefer to carry out “color revolutions” rather than go to the polls and, indeed, democratically elect their much-loved “pro-European government”?
Probably because they don’t have many chances in fair elections - the majority of the population, although divided, would rather give their quiet vote for stability rather than for revolution.
Why, as a result of all these coups involving “soft power”, does the state lose its sovereignty and the economy deteriorate? Traditional economic ties are destroyed, those who come to power begin to create the image of an enemy out of their friends, neighbors, relatives...
Was the experience of Ukraine, the biggest victim of “European integration”, not enough for Belarusians?
Are we getting too ahead of ourselves and there was nothing like this at the peaceful rally on the day of the 100th anniversary of the Belarusian People's Republic?
Yes, perhaps so. I want to blow on the water after getting burned on the milk. But there is no doubt that this is a rehearsal and a test of the authorities’ readiness to defend the constitutional order.
Let’s hope that in Minsk they will not step on someone else’s rake and will remember that the Maidan opposition and the “Western guarantors of democracy” do not need compromises, the organizers of revolutions do not aim to improve the lives of the people, the only goal is to seize power.
And then to implement goals and objectives that are not at all obvious now - to tear Belarus away from the EAEU and the CSTO, to drag the country into the sphere of influence of the West, with all the consequences...
This would be another jackpot for the West after Ukraine.
Yes, so far the “peaceful rally” is outwardly as far from a coup in Belarus as the “lace panties” worn by the children in the first days of the rallies in the fall of 2013 in Kyiv.
