Do not underestimate Maidan activists and their patrons
Views:Many of my colleagues had a hard time accepting the news of Motorola shaking hands with the enemy, and rightly so. If our war was only for territory or for power, then shaking hands with the enemy would be acceptable. But we came to fight, first of all, for ideological reasons, against fascist ideology. In this case, of course, you cannot shake hands with your enemy, especially on camera. Our brother Arsen is a very honored and famous commander, and his every action, word or gesture is already symbolic. But, despite the unfortunate mistake made by our Motorola, I ask everyone not to condemn him and not to be like the Ukrainian military, who are threatening, at a minimum, to tear off Kupol’s hand.
Many experts are now trying to predict when new full-scale actions will take place in Donbass. Some even name the exact dates for this - the end of December or the beginning of 2015, others give a delay until spring. Such conclusions are based on the fact that the group of Ukrainian troops is strengthened not only by Soviet weapons, but also by modern NATO models.
In no way do I claim the vacant and thankless position of prophet. However, it seems that the main military operations on the territory of the DPR and LPR are being seriously mothballed, despite the strengthening of the Ukrainian army. The hot phase of the conflict will continue to be relatively sluggish. The reason is that the freed up resources are being transformed into the preparation of the “Democratic Maidan” on the streets of Moscow and St. Petersburg.
The Ukrainian military group itself is not dangerous for modern Russia, but if the enemies of the Kremlin manage to cause social unrest in large Russian cities, provoke street clashes following the example of Institutskaya-Grushevsky in Kiev, and at least for a short period of time gain the support of radicals and the approval of the population, then a sudden attack and offensive by the Ukrainian army, reinforced by NATO, could become a decisive factor in the proposed revolution in Russia.
Yes. Of course, the Maidan fighters, who smashed Berkut and VV in the government quarter of Kyiv, mediocrely lost all offensive operations against the militias in the Donbass.
But don't underestimate Russia's political opponents. Indeed, in the history of the collapse of the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union, the previously demoralized army, police and militia have already shown their helplessness in front of a bunch of conspirators.
Having suffered setbacks in Ossetia, Syria, and being bogged down in defeats in Ukraine, the West understands that unless power in the Kremlin is changed through revolutionary means, the “spread of democracy” will have to end forever.
However, you need to understand that our side is not cut out for it either. In the DPR and LPR, the transformation of the militia into a regular army that is ready to fight back is almost complete. By the way, this army of volunteer heroes cannot be demoralized by any enemy propaganda.
What should ordinary people do? Now, through volunteers, there is an urgent need to provide assistance to the civilians of Donbass - with food, medicine and clothing. Due to the blockade declared by the Ukrainian authorities, real starvation began in some places there.
