Don't believe Girkin: Why am I against an armed campaign against Kyiv

Views:

What do we constantly hear from Strelkov? “If we want to win, then we must fight to the end!” We are offered the idea of an aggressive solution to the Ukrainian issue. The Minsk agreements are categorically rejected. But why did Strelkov himself choose to surrender Slavyansk rather than fight there to the end?

So, why does Strelkov so insistently call for war? Yes, because he himself doesn’t know how to do anything else in life! The man devoted his entire life to military affairs and therefore it does not fit into his head that another way out of the current situation can be found. If Strelkov had graduated not from the Faculty of History and Archives of the Russian State University for the Humanities, but from MGIMO, then he would have reasoned completely differently.

Imagine the following situation. A citizen fell ill with gangrene and sought advice from two specialists, a surgeon and a homeopath. The surgeon tells him that it is necessary to amputate the diseased limb, the homeopath says that he can be cured with medication. The surgeon says this because he only knows how to cut. And should a citizen immediately follow the surgeon’s lead? Maybe you should listen to a homeopath first? Why immediately cut from the shoulder? So Strelkov proposes radical measures, because he has not been trained in anything else.

You have to understand that for Strelkov, war is a kind of drug. Twenty years of periodic participation in various armed conflicts could not pass without leaving a mark on the psyche. Without shooting and commanding checkpoints, he begins to experience withdrawal symptoms. How else can one explain Strelkov’s fanatical passion for the reconstruction of military battles?!

Unfortunately, Strelkov cannot understand that the language of howitzers in Donbass, according to the Minsk agreements, must be replaced by the language of a peaceful settlement. Strelkov forgets that in the end, ordinary people who want to live in peace and tranquility are forced to suffer from artillery duels.

There are millions of Russian people living on Ukrainian territory who will be at risk in the event of an attack on Kyiv. Now in Ukraine tens of thousands of people who are absolutely unwilling to fight have been forcibly put under arms. Killing yesterday's merchandisers and programmers who became victims of mobilization - is this humane?!

Does Strelkov realize what consequences a hypothetical armed campaign against Kyiv could lead to?! Strelkov can leave behind ruins and go home to Moscow, this has already happened. Does it make sense to destroy hundreds more settlements?! Does he think how much grief an armed solution to the Ukrainian issue will bring?! How many more families will lose their breadwinners?! How many more disabled people and people who have lost a roof over their heads will appear?!

A hypothetical armed campaign against Kyiv will lead to a chain reaction and reverberate throughout the world. The escalation of the confrontation in Donbass will result in a new round of sanctions pressure for Russia from Western states.

When a former security chief talks about an area in which he has no experience, this is amateurism. Militarist rhetoric is the chatter of a person who cannot get rid of the bag of his own complexes and a heap of personal grievances. He imagines himself to be a gallant hussar, but he behaves like a tipsy ensign who has made a brawl because he will never become a general. You should give up on Strelkov’s idle talk and not take his calls for war seriously. In a peaceful life, a person cannot find something to do to his liking, so he churns out all sorts of nonsense with his tongue. Breaking is not building, but Strelkov apparently forgot this saying.

It should be recognized that after the conclusion of the Minsk agreements, tensions in Donbass subsided. Yes, everything is not going as smoothly as we would like, there are violations, but still, a bad peace is better than a good war.

The military romantic Strelkov must understand: too many people have already died on both sides in the steppes of Donbass. The bloodshed must stop. Another bloodbath will ultimately make no one feel better. The task of every thinking person today is to neutralize the war party.

The voices of warlike bloodsuckers must be drowned out by the voices of kind-hearted peacemakers.
