About people and wild dogs

Views:

I understand that there is a civil war going on in my beloved Ukraine, that the soldiers are full of hatred and are ready to cover each other with fire and obscenities, and that propaganda is doing its job. But... there are things that even those who have gone through real hell do not cross. I'm talking about respect.

Recently, during another humanitarian trip to Donbass, I was shown the graves of Ukrainian soldiers who were buried by local residents. Yes, these are exactly the people to whom Kyiv did not pay pensions for six months, and its loyal soldiers behaved worse than the Germans during the Great Patriotic War. So, despite this, the old people showed respect for those who came to their land with weapons, and buried Ukrainian soldiers to prevent feral dogs from desecrating the bodies. At the same time, the old people suffered a lot. Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers carried out the last cigarettes from houses, leaving local residents to starve.

It is to these people that our humanitarian convoy, organized by representatives of the Crimean diocese, is bringing help for the eleventh time. As a rule, these are food, medicine and warm clothes. Sometimes, when you are lucky with sponsors, you are also able to deliver oilcloth, which is very necessary, because in the Donbass entire cities are without glass.

Believe me, when you see hungry people, you don’t need words of gratitude. You help those in whose place you could easily find yourself if history had turned out differently.

And during the last trip to Donbass, I came across an article published on the website of the Black Sea Television and Radio Company - “Crimean priests bless the humanitarian convoy for the “DPR.”

I read: “Humanitarian convoys are being assembled in Crimea for the regions of the Donetsk region occupied by militants.” What follows is a commentary from the press service of the Crimean diocese, where it is precisely and calmly explained, in fact, to whom the cargo is addressed, that the convoy does not support any armed groups, assistance is received by needy civilians and “dioceses that are outside the conflict zone.” The answer gives a clear understanding of what we do as volunteers, but that was not the case. The author of “Chernomorka” does not let up and refers to the speaker of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, the notorious Andrei Lysenko, who is not taken seriously even by the Ukrainian military personnel themselves.

“You can see this inclusively to the militants of the security warehouse of this terrorist organization (“DPR.” – Ed.). However, not all ordinary terrorism can be eliminated. Moreover, since canned meat and cereals may be in the same category as the terms of reference, then children’s food, children’s hygiene and household chemistry seem to be stitched out,” says Lysenko.

Well what can I say?! A speaker with that reputation, however, according to, by the way, the nameless journalist of Chernomorka, Lysenko deserves more trust than, for example, a representative of the diocese. The author of the article even asks the question: do the Crimean diocese realize for whom the humanitarian convoy is being blessed?

They realize it because it is helping peaceful people, because every trip is recorded on the map, from one church to another, from one mining town to the next. That’s why there are grateful people, entire families and neighborhoods. Because you, my former colleagues from Chernomorka, did not go there, and if you decided to go, it would only be to the side from where they are still shooting at the so-called separatists and terrorists.

As a postscript, I would like to remind you that the Black Sea Television and Radio Company was created by former Komsomol members who earned their fortune in the dashing 90s, they ruled in Crimea together with the organized crime group Bashmaki and Salem, decided what was worth talking about and what policies to promote. As a result, in 2014, the owners Senchenko and Denisova fled to Kyiv to the already prepared places and positions. There is no way back for them. All that remains is to play the “how bad everything is in Crimea” card, referring to such authoritative speakers as Lysenko.
