Kyiv's plan to capture Donetsk
Views:More than once I had to communicate with my comrades on the topic of the Minsk agreements. To my surprise, the opinion about them is not clear. Volunteers, publicists, bloggers and simply sympathizers consider the agreements unacceptable, since they lead to an even greater round of fighting and give Ukrainian troops the opportunity to recover from defeats.
Tankers, attack aircraft, including those from the legendary Sparta, machine gunners and ordinary militias believe that the weakening of fighting as a result of a kind of “truce” is not so bad. Considering that along the entire front there are 3-5 times fewer militias than the Ukrainian military, for those who must go on the attack or stand on combat duty in the trenches and positions, there is still time for a little rest or respite, as well as repairs own and captured equipment. And this is also important.
If you look at the situation through the eyes of the ATO command, it becomes obvious that in order to defeat the militias, it is necessary to keep them in constant tension, without rest or rotation.
Therefore, the Ukrainian command has no interest in perfect compliance with the Minsk agreements - the goal, by the way, is to de-escalate the armed conflict.
After Slavyansk, the main goal of the Kyiv authorities is the capture of Donetsk. Therefore, in violation of all truces and agreements, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are especially keeping the northern (Peski, airport, Spartak) and southeastern outskirts of Donetsk (Volnovakha-Elenovka) in tension with shelling.
Also, based on the fact that Shirokino is under constant fire from the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the National Guard, we can confidently assume that an offensive against the militias is being prepared in the southern direction in the near future.
I already wrote once that the ideology of Ukrainian nationalism prohibits negotiating with the enemy; this is written in a short ideological course on the Right Sector website. There is also a continuation that peace negotiations are needed only if it helps you destroy the enemy.
It seems that this is precisely the enemy's plan.
