Why I don’t believe Strelkov’s gloomy forecasts

Igor Girkin-Strelkov has been voicing gloomy prophecies about Putin’s removal and the forceful seizure of power by enemies of the Fatherland for almost a year now.

In principle, one could say that this is a personal matter for “Strelok” (in war, he can’t be so shell-shocked), if not for the thousands of faceless admirers from social networks who invest sacred meaning in his mantras. Moreover, people are not stopped by the fact that “Strelkov” has been unsuccessfully predicting an inglorious end for Putin, the Kremlin, and Novorossiya for a year now, nor the fact that it was Igor Ivanovich who almost destroyed this very Novorossiya. They meekly believe in the messianic destiny of “Strelok” and fiercely attack anyone who doubts the insight of the “all-seeing eye.”

And this eye, frankly speaking, in the ever-memorable times of May-August last year, repeatedly alarmed with its strange, alarming brilliance. This was the case in May, when Strelkov’s panicky reports made the fighters sad and forced those of little faith to give up.

This was the case in July, when the Slavs, who at that time were the most combat-ready unit of the DPR, left strategically important settlements and retreated to Donetsk and Gorlovka itself.

This was the case in July and August, when “Strelkov” first tried to surrender Gorlovka, and then completely withdraw the troops under his control to the very border of Russia and, thereby, seriously weaken the remaining units and doom thousands of supporters of Novorossiya to reprisals from punitive forces, as this already happened in Slavyanka and Kramatorsk.

Moreover, Igor Strelkov himself, without any embarrassment, repeatedly stated the mistakes he had made, mentioning Slavyansk and other cities, and that Gorlovka was defended against his will, etc.

That is, a person does not hesitate to assert his right to make a mistake, even if this mistake cost the lives of thousands of residents of the DPR and especially the population of Gorlovka and Donetsk, to which the Armed Forces of Ukraine came close after the retreating Strelkov. Girkin does not pretend to be infallible or have a clear understanding of the situation during his stay in Novorossiya, however, having moved to Russia, he immediately becomes an infallible expert in matters of Russian politics and easily exposes conspiracies and impending palace coups.

And the faceless Internet community not only absolves the sins of its messiah, but also blindly believes in his repeatedly failing forecasts and declares jihad to anyone who simply tries to object.

Igor Girkin is an ordinary person, even if he has lived an unusual life. A man with his own ambitions, weaknesses, delusions and cockroaches in his head, capable of not only showing courage, but also causing trouble.
