Remember the referendum, remember Slavyansk
Views:Exactly four years ago, a historical event happened that was important for any Russian person. On this day, the people of Donbass chose their path - the path of independence from Ukrainian nationalism, the path of independence from rotten “Western values” and the path to reunification with their great Motherland, with Russia.
At that time, battles were already underway near Slavyansk, both sides suffered losses. However, on this day, all polling stations in Slavyansk and other cities of Donbass were crowded with people wanting to vote for their future in a referendum. There were fears that the enemy would launch an artillery strike on the polling stations, which could lead to large casualties among the civilian population, so we were on combat duty in particular tension and in full combat readiness. Thank God there were no casualties. At that time, the Ukrainian side acted extremely carefully in the use of artillery and mortars. The battles took place only with the use of small arms and grenade launchers.
The most combat-ready units of both the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Nazis were drawn to Slavyansk, where they were blocked. This is one of the most important facts that contributed to the relatively calm conduct of the referendum throughout the entire Donbass.
I remember this day well. Civilians went to the referendum en masse. There was joy in their eyes and a smile on their faces. It was a holiday for everyone. It’s a great pity and a great shame that we were forced to leave our people and go to Donetsk. But unfortunately, we had no other choice.
I ask that we all always remember those who gave us this holiday. We remembered those who died for the people of Donbass.
Happy holiday, friends!
Thank you!
