17 people did not vote. Three people voted against. A feat, almost a feat against the backdrop of general fear and betrayal.

And so they made a choice. Shameful choice. Isn’t it clear that if you run for deputy, you need to be ready to at least take action, if not sacrifice, for the interests of your voters?! Or are some of them tired of being principled?
I know Chairman Sergei Chernov as one of the closest associates of the late Yevgeny Kushnarev, I remember him as a person who, in the “Yushchenko” times, was a firm and principled fighter for the region against nationalism. What has changed over the years? For a long time I was an assistant to the deputies of the regional council and I don’t know - rather, I’m afraid to find out - how many diehard fighters in the past voted, how the communist faction behaved. But I will definitely find out, because there are local elections this year, and voters will ask everyone.
Many of the deputies live far outside the city and will not be able to protect themselves from the visit of militants in balaclavas. Their fear is understandable. They are not ready to join the army, facing bullets - for pacifist or other principled reasons. But you could simply not show up for the session. In a critical situation, was it possible to surrender the mandate before all the votes? Leave, leave the situation of a choice impossible for you... By the way, some did just that. But there were 99 of those who voted, of which there were obvious supporters of Nazi lawlessness and war hysteria - no more than a third, I assure you. What about the rest?!
