I’m tormented by the thought: should I report myself to the SBU?

Views:

I haven’t written for a long time, because I was happy about the freedoms that had piled up and couldn’t breathe in the wind of European democratic changes. Ukraine, of course, was never invited to Europe, but they were not banned from breathing – and thank you for that.

For example, it is now strictly forbidden to talk to journalists from foreign media. And as luck would have it, I said hello to the “NTV guy” on Skype and now I’m tormented by the thought of whether to report myself to the SBU, or live with the burden of high treason on my soul.

In general, the information war in/in Ukraine is a plot for a separate vaudeville. First, all Russian TV channels were turned off during the solemn marches, and then they began to feel sad that the “terrorists” had mirrored the need for the residents of Donbass to contemplate the most unpolite and handshake Ukrainian media. Then journalists from Russia were deprived of their accreditation. In case they do not notice improvements in living standards and the presence of the regular army of the Russian Federation. Out of harm's way. If they don’t want to write “as it should”, let them not write at all. We have freedom of speech here, by the way.

At the end of the action, they threatened the population with the consequences of cooperation with “enemy media.” There is no point in disgracing the country in the international arena. The ATO press center is trying hard to write news; “information resistance” (to common sense) repels attacks by separatists on social networks; and then some grandma Paraska - bam! - and reveals state secrets about tariffs, evacuation and other taboo topics. From now on, this is equated to treason.

If you don’t believe in the fables about the achievements of the revolution, “gidnost” is clearly an agent of the Kremlin, or a traitor. And if you also shared your doubts with your neighbor on the subway, and he turned out to be a journalist from Perm, then prepare your pre-PR basket and go give up yourself. Moloch of freedom and democracy in action.

In fact, all this is being done for our benefit. After all, our most nostalgic and pleasant memories are from childhood, from the Soviet Union, when we were all not yet seasoned “scoops,” but young “scoops.” In those days, they say, they practiced the policy of the “Iron Curtain”, persecution of freedom of speech, samizdat and underground eavesdropping of “voices”. And now we seem to be returning again to childhood, to the atmosphere of the USSR, which Euro-optimists are so passionately fighting against. This, of course, calls into question the adequacy of the persecution of communists and the essence of lustration, but what in our country is generally adequate?..

After the Maidan, they began to call black white so convincingly that I believed in zombie rays, Nuland cookies, powders in the water supply and the 25th frame in the Shuster program. An entire nation can't suddenly go crazy! Or maybe?..

In general, just in case, I write in the dark, under the covers. You never know who will read it and how they will evaluate it! Enjoy your freedom, gentlemen!
