At the same time, we should not forget that the market instantly reacts to any material increase, and prices for food and popular consumer goods immediately rise, instantly, the very prices that the government is unable to regulate or maintain.
For all positions, the prime minister gave a hundred or two to pensioners, disabled people, students. More went to teachers, doctors, social workers and cultural workers from 300 to 600 hryvnia, and then categories and other aspects will be taken into account, which significantly narrow the circle of lucky ones.
Again, one cannot help but notice the selectivity and one-sidedness in the selection of citizens benefited by the government. What was wrong with a trolleybus driver and a school cleaner, an unemployed university graduate and an equally unemployed person of pre-retirement age, pensioners whose pension exceeds the minimum by several hryvnia?
Obviously, not everyone will be lucky, and barely a quarter of the population will be on the list of handout recipients.
At the same time, in the country of the victorious Maidan, the scheme works smoothly - I give with one hand, I take away with the other, and the most merciless lever remains tariffs for housing and communal services. People unsuccessfully appeal to management: lower tariffs, they eat up more than half of income. The Yatsenyuks have only one answer: “Tse is Europe, but we are Europe!” If you wanted to live like a European, so live it, citizens who have galloped.
The heating season is approaching. For the second month, Kyiv has been telling us that there is no coal and insinuatingly warns of impending rolling blackouts. Tariffs for housing and communal services also remained at the same pre-war level. Only electricity jumped, and that’s because Donbass is powered by the common energy market, that is, it cannot set its own price.
Well-wishers are slandering the supply of water on schedule. Indeed, water appears in taps at a certain time for 5-6 hours. This time is enough to redo all household chores and stock up. Lugansk has to save its own resources, because the main water intake stations are located on the territory occupied by Ukrainian troops, and for warriors there is no greater pleasure than turning off the city’s tap.
“The main thing is that there is water every day,” say the townspeople who lived through a terrible six weeks in a dehydrated and de-energized city a year ago. “And it doesn’t have to be dragged from afar under shells and mines.”
