For coal jokes in the supply of light there are gaps

When the weather gets colder, as the prime minister promised, the country will plunge into darkness - more and more often and for longer. The thermal power plant, you see, has no coal.
Do you know what's funny? There is coal! But it’s not profitable for the government to just take it - you can’t put much in your pocket. It was on coal, for example, that Yanukovych’s son made his fortune. “Coal schemes” are the next most profitable after “gas” schemes. But only in the case when coal from the mine gets to the thermal power plant “along the right road.”
Example. The Yuzhnodonbasskaya No. 3 mine, located in Ugledar, a small town in the Donetsk region, is relatively young. It was put into operation in the fall of 1985. According to geologists, the reserves of coking coal in it will be enough for another 120 years of full-fledged operation.
3 thousand 685 people serve this entire economy. The mine was part of the state enterprise Donetsk Coal Energy Company (DUEK) and was actually the only one in it that was profitable. With the outbreak of the war, DUEK was given a long life, but the mine, along with the railway tracks, remained on Ukrainian-controlled territory. For some time, the mine continued to operate fully and has accumulated 24 tons of coal in warehouses today, suitable for use at thermal power plants. But Ukraine... does not take this coal. He lies like a dead weight.
The mine has no legal entity after the collapse of DUEK. The Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry has not been able to provide this status for several months (!) - it is simply “frozen”. They are also in no hurry to conclude an agreement with Coal of Ukraine for the export of fuel by rail. Because all this will be a transparent purchase, and there is virtually nothing to warm up your hands on.
It is much more interesting for the government to sink mines that are under the control of the DPR, complain that this requires a lot of money and speculate on power outages. Moreover, the scheme emerging here is very interesting. Coal from Donbass will be purchased not by a Ukrainian company, but by an offshore company close to Akhmetov. But now they will buy thermal power plants from offshore companies. Naturally, at other prices, the difference in coverage will bring a good income to all participants in the scheme.
Why else is the government interested in Donbass and coal from the ATO zone? Yes, everything is very simple - according to the documents, there is no war. Therefore, in 2014, the Ukrainian government continued coal subsidies. In the first half of the year, state mines spent more than 3 billion hryvnia ($250 million). Moreover, it is curious that the state continued to subsidize mines that found themselves in the ATO zone, that is, “under the control of terrorists.” As in the times of Yanukovych, such “correct” management allows billions to be taken out of the Ukrainian treasury.
Don’t forget one more nuance: at one time, Arseny Petrovich instructed the Ministry of Finance and the National Bank to transfer the accounts of enterprises with a state share of more than 50% to Oschadbank. The choice of bank is simply excellent, because Oschadbank is headed by the prime minister’s childhood friend, Andrei Pyshny, who certainly knows how to keep secrets.
