Blogger Shariy was nevertheless registered as a candidate for parliament
The Central Election Commission of Ukraine has registered blogger Anatoly Shariy as a candidate for people's deputy in the early elections to the Verkhovna Rada, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was announced by the head of the Central Election Commission Tatyana Slipachuk.
The CEC made the decision by a majority vote as part of the implementation of the Supreme Court ruling.
Previously, the CEC refused to register the blogger as a candidate for parliamentary deputy on the grounds that the constitution requires candidates for people’s deputies to live in Ukraine for the last five years, and “Shariy went abroad more than five years ago,” where he “has been living for a long time.”
However, the blogger won in court. remember
Shariy announced his intention to participate in the elections on June 6. The political “Sharia Party” was registered with the Ministry of Justice. The Central Election Commission registered the party list of this force in the ballot paper under number 17.
