The NATO bloc noticeably revived during the 2018 World Cup
While the whole world was watching the events of the 2018 World Cup, the North Atlantic Alliance began to build up its forces and conduct exercises on the western borders of Russia.
Military journalist Viktor Baranets stated this in an interview with Day TV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“During the World Cup, the Russian General Staff monitored online 24 hours a day those movements that appeared at that time in the European theater of military operations. And new units appeared there, including American ones.
Reconnaissance flights from Baltic airfields began to be carried out more intensively. Exercises were carried out, including at the Yavorovsky training ground (Lviv region). Still, you can watch football with one eye, but you have to look at NATO with the other,” Baranets said.
