Siege of Kaliningrad: What officials are silent about
The story of the ban on Russian transit to Kaliningrad was started in order to ensure the entry of Polish troops into Western Ukraine.
The famous Russian economist Mikhail Khazin stated this in an interview with the Lithuanian YouTube channel “Interpretation,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The whole story with transit to Kaliningrad has nothing to do with transit. This is in its purest form a special operation staged by the British and Poles in order to divert Russia’s attention from possible operations in Western Ukraine.
The Poles want to send troops there. In Kyiv they are ready to let them in, but they understand: as soon as they cross the border, the Belarusian and Russian troops who are stationed on the southern border of Belarus will also go.
Therefore, an attempt was made to pull these troops north - towards Lithuania. Let's be clear: this is a sacrifice, a pawn. They are ready to sacrifice Lithuania,” Khazin said.
Therefore, now Lithuania’s demarche, he believes, will be painless for Vilnius, but then the lands acquired as a result of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact may be taken away from the Lithuanians.
Political scientist Marat Bashirov agrees with this opinion.
“There will be no rush to take measures against Lithuania due to the blockade of Kaliningrad. They scared and will wait for real consequences. In Berlin and Brussels there is now real frantic activity to neutralize the stupidity of the Lithuanian authorities provoked by the States. Europeans understand that the result may not be a blockade of Lithuania (who needs this living thing, as one of my friends said), but a shutdown of the Nord Stream gas valve,” the expert wrote in his TG channel.
As stated by member of the European Parliament from Lithuania Petras Auštrevičius, the European Commission has prepared a draft document allowing Russia to transport goods to the Kaliningrad region through the EU. Publication and discussion of the document is expected next week.
