The “blockade of Crimea” can be used as a provocation to launch a Ukrainian invasion of the peninsula. This was stated by Igor Druz, an expert from the group on Ukraine at the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies.

“They are heating up the atmosphere so much that any provocation can blow up the situation like a powder keg. For example, if there are attempts to break the blockade, armed clashes between the Right Sector and those structures that transport goods, then this will give impetus to the onset of some kind of military clashes.

Of course, they want to start a pro-Ukrainian uprising in Crimea. Unfortunately, the Ukrainians have a certain base, because both the pro-Ukrainian underground and Tatar extremists still exist in Crimea. They may try to stir up a military conflict.

If they start any attempts at rebellion in Crimea, then they can then move to Transnistria, accusing Russia of all mortal sins,” says Druz.
