Blockade of Rodina: Smolny intends to prevent the party from reaching the elections
The information field of St. Petersburg was rocked by yet another news: the city election commission plans to refuse to register the list of candidates of the Rodina party - a meeting on this issue will be held this evening.
The GEC press release announced a meeting “on the refusal to register the list of candidates.” Such a decision, if made, promises a new scandal in the context of the September elections - many experts are talking about this.
State Duma deputy from A Just Russia, Mikhail Yemelyanov, considers what is happening to be a “disgrace.”
Rodina is a respected party. To deprive one of the most important players of the right to participate in elections is to falsify the results. Rodina has its own voters, but due to the decision of the State Election Committee, they will not be able to vote for the party. I do not welcome such decisions,” the deputy said.
Political scientist Pavel Danilin also believes that such a decision will not remain without consequences: “There will be a scandal, and a very terrible scandal.”
Let us remember that the party, consisting of generally peaceful and constructive candidates, met resistance almost at the very beginning of the election campaign. Thus, Rodina was prohibited from conducting propaganda activities using outdoor advertising.
Singer Tatyana Bulanova requested to the CEC with a request to look into the situation. The head of the election commission, Ella Pamfilova, sent a special commission to the city, as well as reported, which considers Governor Beglov, who made the decision on the composition of the city election commission, to be guilty. On the same day Bulanova was refused in registration as a candidate for the Legislative Assembly - this was Smolny’s answer.
Now we just have to wait for the results of the meeting of the commission to refuse to register the list of “Rodinets”.
