“I was forced to go to Crimea on business. It’s a painful impression, I can’t even explain it...
I'll say one thing. Either the population of Crimea is not zombified, then we, Ukrainians, are zombified, or we were somehow convinced that Crimeans have a bad life without Ukraine.
But this is absolutely not true. There are two cults in Crimea. The cult of Russia and the cult of disdain for Ukraine and Ukrainians. There are Russian flags everywhere, large and small, in stores there are some stickers “thanks to grandfather for the victory,” there are a lot of DPR/LPR flags, there are also a lot of Crimeans fighting on the side of the DPR/LPR, and they do not hide their participation in the war against Ukraine ... There are a lot of cars with Ukrainian license plates and St. George ribbons, the St. George ribbon is present everywhere, on everyone and everything,” says Hasek.
At the same time, the Kiev resident specifically writes the words “Russia” and “LPR/DPR” with a small letter.
“There are quite a lot of vacationers from mainland Ukraine too... prices... prices are the most ordinary, Crimean... hryvnias are 20-50 hryvnia more expensive than in mainland Ukraine, almost all goods are Ukrainian-made, sometimes Russian goods are found, but not more often than in Ukraine...
Will Crimea return to Ukraine? Territory, perhaps. Population - never. This is the Truth,” admits Hasek.
