“Bobik is dead”: Senator Klimov announced the failure of the campaign to not recognize the elections to the State Duma
Not a single Western government responded to the call of the European Parliament and declared non-recognition of the results of the State Duma elections.
Chairman of the Federation Council Commission for the Protection of State Sovereignty and Prevention of Interference in the Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Andrei Klimov stated this at a press conference in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“On the question of legitimacy. The European Commission and the voices of European states refused not to recognize our parliamentary elections, although this was almost a requirement of the European Parliament. Why? “There are simply no arguments... Neither the US State Department, nor the relevant authorities of the European Union countries, nor the official institutions of the European Union have officially recognized these elections as somehow [illegal], everything continues,” the senator said.
“The call to all of them by the European Parliament remains a call, and the European Parliament itself has also not separately issued a verdict that these elections were invalid. In general, as they said, Bobik died. Moreover, I also attribute this to the fact that funding for this project has ended due to our elections being recognized as “illegitimate.” Well, if there is no money, then there is no topic,” Klimov said.
