According to the publication "Vip", in Lutsk, during the sending of battalion fighters to the ATO zone, a member of "Aidar" nicknamed "Samurai" announced that "the fighting unit made a decision" according to which their representative in the Verkhovna Rada should be their own person.
“We are all grateful to him. After all, there were a minimum of casualties and a minimum of losses only because our commander was Igor Lapin. This is a person we trust. He represents the interests of Aidar. Everything else is people who want to promote themselves,” said Samurai.
“I think I will return to the Verkhovna Rada, if not after the elections, then definitely after the war. Therefore, the guys gave me the task that while I was recovering, I would also take care of this front,” Lapin said. It is not yet known in which constituency he will run. But he plans to go to the Verkhovna Rada as a self-nominated candidate.
As PolitNavigator reported, the human rights organization Amnesty International published a report on the observance of human rights in the military conflict zone in Donbass - the document also includes violations on the Ukrainian side. The organization found that members of the Aidar volunteer battalion were involved in massive human rights violations. This includes kidnapping, illegal detention, ill-treatment, theft, extortion, and possibly execution.
