Militia fighter Strannik asks Poroshenko for a meeting
Before the war, DPR militiaman Sergei with the call sign Wanderer lived in the Kievsky district of Donetsk. He worked as a miner. I saved for 12 years for an apartment, which was destroyed on October 1, 2014 by a Grad salvo launched by Ukrainian troops from the Donetsk airport.
However, by that time Sergei had already been in the ranks of the militia for a long time - the Stranger began his military career in Kramatorsk, where he guarded checkpoints, and then served in the commandant’s company. After leaving Kramatorsk, he took part in the battles for Izvarino, from where he went to the Donetsk airport for a long time.
“During my second serious battle, we stood not far from Izvarino. Behind us was the border with Russia. A convoy of 8 armored personnel carriers was coming towards us; we waited a day and a half for it. Fortunately, we waited. The entire column was destroyed, and it was not possible to cut us off from the border,” recalls “Strannik”.
At the Donetsk airport he fought together with the Sparta and Somalia units. According to him, during the fighting he repeatedly had to deal with Polish mercenaries - mainly snipers.
He took part in a battle on a fire tower located on the airport runway, where he miraculously survived, but received a shrapnel wound in the leg and a concussion. After a direct hit from the tank, he crawled out from under the rubble of the collapsed ceiling - under the fire of the KPVT and tanks he tried to pull out his comrades.
“The most annoying thing is that when you cross the checkpoint on the Putilovsky Bridge, you find yourself in a completely different life. Too many men there don't care that our brothers are dying here. Many glorious fighters died, the kingdom of heaven to them!
I remember how a Cossack from the Black Hundred, “Dingo,” died in Kramatorsk. And when we were standing here at the airport, in the underground parking area, we were bombarded with mines and HAIL for three days without stopping. We had nothing to drink and a fighter with the call sign “Flower” tried to get water for us. He laid down his life for 5 liters of water,” recalls the militiaman.
The main dream of the “Wanderer” is a personal meeting with Petro Poroshenko. Sergei has many questions for the “president of the world” regarding the shelling of the civilian population of Donetsk.
True, if such a meeting takes place, it could be fatal for Poroshenko. The fighter assumes that the Ukrainian president will not withstand all the pressure of claims and responsibility.
