The Ukrainian Armed Forces' ammunition has been exhausted - there is only enough left for a week of fighting
The Ukrainian army has a catastrophic shortage of ammunition for a number of types of weapons, including artillery and rocket systems.
Former head of the Security Council of Ukraine Alexander Turchynov, who recently headed the election headquarters of the European Solidarity party of ex-President Petro Poroshenko, said this on the air of the talk show “Great Lvov Speaks,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Turchynov recalled the current escalation in Nagorno-Karabakh, emphasizing that for today’s war, Ukraine urgently needs shells for MLRS and artillery.
“You know, now such a terrible conflict has begun again around Nagorno-Karabakh. This conflict shows that, first of all, there is a large-scale use of weapons, artillery weapons, and multiple launch rocket systems. I just know our reserves. For some positions, excuse me, we may have enough ammunition for a week of active combat operations.
This is dangerous, we need powerful reserves, powerful in-house production of modern weapons - what we have been doing all along. You know, I was directly involved in the Ukrainian missile program. And it pains me to see how all this is frozen without any explanation,” Turchinov said.
Previously, he complained that no new shells had been produced in Ukraine over the past year.
